Alem Clutch [The World]
The Alem Clutch was our first leather product released in 2017! It has been a foundational and favorite product in our leather collection and continues to be one of our most popular products to date.
“Alem is Carry 117’s cook, which includes cooking breakfast and lunch for all of the employees at Carry 117. Alem is also known as the “mom” at Carry 117. Alem is well known for her outgoing personality and loves meeting new people and sharing her love of cooking. When you first come through the gates of the Carry 117 compound, Alem is the one that will greet you with a smile and hug and make you feel so welcome. She has so much experience bridging the language gap of our visitors at Carry 117. She has such a gift of making everyone that visits feel like part of the Carry 117 family. You can always find Alem with a smile on her face and wanting to teach whoever wants to learn something no matter what it may be. It could be how to grind coffee beans, how to cook lunch, or even teaching you a kids song and dance in Amharic. She is one person that keeps everyone entertained and keeps us laughing and we are so thankful God brought her into our lives.”

Alem says, “When I see the leather, it’s strong, and that reflects my life! Anybody who has this purse will be happy, healthy, and they will find a man. Even if you want to give it as a gift it will be a good memory for that person. I’m very proud and happy because it’s named after me. You will be blessed with this purse! I’m so glad I get to be famous at this age!”

Alem’s name means “The World” in Ethiopia. We think this bag encompasses the gift Alem has in bringing each and every person that carries this together no matter their background, country, race, or religion. She embodies what Carry 117 was created for. She lives out our mission statement each and every day and we wouldn’t be where we are today without this amazing woman. We think she is “out of this WORLD” amazing. We are so thankful for her leadership, love, kindness, amazing cooking, support, and friendship.
The Alem Clutch is made with premium Ethiopian leather. It currently comes in gray, black, tan, and brown leather. The clutch is 10" x 6" with a 10" loop leather strap and magnetic snap to close. This clutch has one single compartment.
